列了一大堆问题：
brake pipe and hose, need replace
front exhaust pipe and m-box, need replace
front shock absorber, need replace
spare type, need replace

加起来要６００

我怀疑是rip off，因为要换的都是kwik fit 主要卖的东西，

请有经验的高人帮忙分析一下，哪些必须换，哪些可以不换（车是９７年的renault clio，也不大常用，就是周末去买东西之类，不想花太多钱）

另外我在ebay看了一下，brake pipe 和 hose 都很便宜，请问自己装可以么？

我主要担心cambelt，因为这车跑了7 万多miles，也不知道以前的车主换过没有。可是kwik fit
却没有告诉我要马上换，是不是可以接着在跑几千

is it possible to try the other garage? kwik fit is very expensive, once i change a tyre from there, and it was very dear.

楼主的问题我也遇到过!!!
而且他们列出的那些问题都是用红色标示的,看似很严重的样子!
后来打电话到国内问了一些专业人员,他们说那都不算是很严重的问题,可换可不换.
不过那也只是我的车的情况,要是楼主很趁胖子的话,还是换了吧,毕竟安全第一嘛!尤其是第一条应该换了.

Yes, you can.

But you'll have to do it quick. And book a retest in 14 days at Kwik-Fit. Or they will charge you for another test and it could still fail.

Lets have a look at your faults.
* brake pipe and hose, need replace
Maybe you can, if you are really handy and knows how to avoid spilling brake fluid all around. I certainly wouldn't do that.

* front exhaust pipe and m-box, need replace
Don't know what m-box is. But to replace the exhaust pipe you'll need to solder it. Don't think you can do that. BTW, front pipe usually costs more than the other parts. But the most expensive part in the exhaust is the catalyst converter. That alone could set you back 120 quid at least.

front shock absorber, need replace
Shock absorbers usually need to be replaced in pairs. If one is gone, the other won't last long either. Make sure the quote you get from a garage is for a pair. Some would quote only one to make the price look competitive.

spare type, need replace
That's an easy one. You can find one at your local scrap yard for around 15 quid. That will do for your MOT.

Just because you dont use it lot and also short distance drive, that's damange the car more

thanks for the replies.

I am not doing the MOT(it still has 7 month left ) so I wouldn't worry about that

I think I should have the brake done because it is really dangerous. So to be responsible to my and other's saftey I will ask other garage to give me a quatation

I found some information in the internet about kwik fit which says it has a reputation of asking you to make unnessasary changes

basically every garage has the similar problems. while doing a MOT or repair, you better be on the spot. they could easily charge you more for labour if you are not on site. but in your case, i do think you should try another garage...it seems they charge you too much...
