Local is not a must, but I suppose it might help if you pay by morgage?
I found one on internet, quite cheap, and I never met him from beginging til the end.

sorry i said "I suppose" paying by morgage is beeter to find a local laywer because things can go wrong and is better to speak to them in person......i do not have experience since I was cash buyer.
Sorry not much help here. But personally I think find a solicitor on internet is fine!
