足球叫 Dressing Room, 网球才叫 Locker Room

《卫报》世界杯期间有个专栏,叫 Soccerball,向美国读者报道 'Soccer World Series',很搞笑的。

you can list the terminologies in chinese here, then others can tell you them in english.

does that mean you want to know the meanings of english football terminologies rather than the english translation of chinese football terminologies? sorry for my misunderstanding. blush.gif

btw, i'm the one who "puts the heart in italy", not money though. i've been doing so for ages. smile.gif

spot on, well done.

"stamp on someone's groin"? how about "stamp on Ricardo Carvalho's 'tomatoes'"? smile.gif it's from one portuguese newspaper. more funny, isn't it? apparently they're good at not only diving, but also being humorous.

Rooney is a hard boy, and he likes to play his game serious and with a little bit of temper. you say he stamp on Carvalho's 'tomatoes' but that's only what is seems like, maybe he didn't. but during the incident three Portugal players were all over Rooney.

Rooney managed to transform himself from the hope of England to mindless thug by that stamp.

Not really a transformation. He has always had a bad temper - and the stamping is hardly so deliberate, merely trying to shrug two very rough challengers in that battle to get the ball forward.

A thug? Hardly. Just a boy - similar to Ronaldo.

If only people judged less and showed more understanding.

another two, how do you translate headbutt (as Figo did during Holland game) and flying kicks?

smile.gif do understand why he did. But the thing he has done will be no way to be changed back. Probably if it could , it would have never happened. BUT it had happened . He has to be staying with it and facing all the judgement from all over the world then he will get through and learn sth from it. That is his experience---very important for a boy.
