the house is between southampton and portsmouth. a bbc programme said the average house price in southampton is above 300,000. 175,000 for a semi-detatched house in hants is comparitively cheap. i think that is why the house was sold so quickly. but maybe the buyer just don't care the noise. i lived in a house very close to a busy roundabout some time ago. but i did not really feel the noise as the double glaze was noise-proof.

anyway, i won't buy such a house myself.
