I am very close to two offers now. One is a senior software engineer at one of the top software providers in the world. Eastimated pay will be around 40k per year + flexible benefits. Office in Reading.

The other one is a senior lecturer/assistant professor in a university at China. It ranks about 10th in China. Pay scale is around 7-10w per year.

Though I have not been offered yet, but I am struggling to choose between these two.

Any comments or suggestions?

Oracle? Excellent company, and Reading is a nice town to live.

The choice depends on your willingness to stay in the Uni or go into industry.

I guess u have received ur Ph.D too? Personally I have chosen the latter simply because I have spent nearly all my life training in the acadamy and felt it is time to change. Commecial software development is totally different from modelling "toys" in the labs. And I enjoy more making things work than proving theories true.

PM if you have further questions for TVP and Reading...

Just being curious that how did you manage to get a senior position in the industry directly from the academia ( or you have worked for some time in the industry?). Anyway, good luck to you in either of the two career paths.
