All documents requested must be original. If not in French or English, they must be officially translated. This translation must be certified as a true copy (bear an official stamp of approval) by either your Embassy/ Consulate or by the legalisation bureau of the Foreign Office in GB.
The Visa Section recommends visa nationals to conserve their hotel invoices to prove their stay in France.
All documents requested must be less than 1 month old.
You are advised to bring your expired passports (if applicable) when you lodge your visa application.
As the UK is not part of the Schengen group of countries, even you have a valid British residency, you may still need a Schengen visa to travel to France.
A Schengen visa allows its holder to travel freely within the Schengen Space. The French Consulate General only accepts travel insurance packages issued by recognised companies.

例如1月1日至3月31日有效的多次签证，duration of stay如果注明30天，就意味着：无论什么时候入境，无论入境1次，2次还是更多次，每次入境停留的天数相加后不能超过30天，绝不是每次入境后可以停留30天。另外，3月31日有效期满，签证失效。这时，无论停留天数是否满30天，都必须及时离境，否则作为逾期停留可能导致严重后果。
