Belfast City Center Exhibition - “A Close Look at Tibetans’ Life”
然而,我们正义的声音,却被西方媒“翻译为“a group of thugs and goons”的以强欺弱!

Belfast City Center Exhibition - “A Close Look at Tibetans’ Life”
10th May 2008, 2pm
Corn Market (the round stand in front of Victoria Square, Belfast City Center) – Shown in the map with red circle
The recent “314” Lhasa Riot and the following Olympic Torch relay have made Tibet a new focus across the whole world. However, these events were not reported as what they originally were by the media (such as CNN, BBC etc.). For example, the “314” Lhasa riot was translated as a “Peaceful protest”, during which innocent people were killed, schools were burned and shops were robed. These “peaceful protests” were actually well planned and organized by the Pro-Tibetan separatists, most of them have never lived in Tibet before. The local Tibetan friends in Lhasa have told us after the Lhasa riot: “We don’t know where those monks and rioters are from. They have damaged many shops and schools, travellers don’t come here as much as before. We quite worry about our income now. And we hope the impact of this riot won’t last long.”
The warm welcome of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Torch relay from oversea Chinese is another mistranslation by the media. While the Pro-Tibet organization tried to destroy the Olympic Torch Relay, which is one of the biggest non-political events in the world, thousands of Chinese living oversea have shown amazingly spontaneous unification against the destroy. However, such positive welcome was translated by CNN as the work of “a group of thugs and goons”. Moreover, the media tried very hard to lead its audience to the direction that such spontaneous reaction was “organized by the Chinese government“.
When so-called non-biased media decided to brainwash the whole world, we feel it is necessary to speak out the facts and history – the real truth. The aim of this exhibition is to provide non-biased information about Tibet’s history, the real situation in Tibet before and after the liberation of Tibetans (1959). We will also exhibit a number of photos taken by amateur photographers who have travelled to and lived in Tibet before. These photos would show what Tibetans live like nowadays.
We are not supported by any government; we are just a group of individuals, who detest the distortion of truth.
