英国骗子不老少，我最近找房遇到骗子险些中招。本以为自己够笨了，结果意外地在/英中时报/看到真有上当受害的国人，决定还是发个帖，请大家周知。

偶在gumtree上发了寻房贴，随即，先后有两人来诈骗，手法相同，都与WEST UNION，即西联汇款有关。
首先，骗子说自己专业人士，有房，但因最近到外地工作而空置，考虑再三决定把房子租出去，价格比市场价格低，重要条件就是要好好照看房子。他提供了房间图片等信息，装模作样地询问你的情况，提到需要查bank statement等，一切都和正常租房的房东差不多。在随后邮件里，他话锋一转，说近期已数次从工作地点返回房子所在城市安排看房，但由于看房的人不讲信用，无法在看房后第一时间提供现金作DEPOSITE，导致他浪费了很多时间。为避免类似遗憾再次发生，并减少你提供bank STATEMENT给陌生人带来的潜在风险，他的律师提出建议，希望我提供西联汇款的底单，以证实我手里的确持有有现金，随后看房。注意，他不是要求我用西联汇款给他们，而是要求我汇款到你朋友或亲人的名字下，然后发底单的扫描件给他，所以这个操作看起来是很安全的。当然，我也提出提供PAY SLIP等其他方式，都被以无法证实有现金存在而拒绝。于是，我查询了西联官网，又到附近经营点作了简单咨询，看起来对方这要求也没有什么特别之处。只有一点，由于西联网点大都关门较早，而我们约的看房时间在傍晚，所以即便看房后当即签合同，取款地点和时间也会有问题，我就此提出疑问，对方说自己解决。我要求电话协商，对方提供了号码，但说目前在studio录音一段时间，所以暂时不会接听。这引起了我的疑心。

因为找房子实在有段时间了，难得遇到一个地点和价格都符合意愿的，此刻虽然感觉有风险在，但和LG商议后我们决定还是先汇款再说，当时觉得最坏就是赔上手续费。款汇后，我把扫描文件发给了对方，但文件上用来取款的最重要凭证，取款号码，被我有意遮住了。对方立刻发邮件来要这个号码，并解释说需要在网上跟踪查询确定现金在帐。网上查询功能的确属实，但此刻感觉对方的兴趣主要集中在钱上了。我立刻电话询问了为我办理汇款的MONEYSHOP，询问在第三方提供取款号的情况下可否提出现金。工作人员出言很谨慎，一再强调虽然取钱时既需要取款号，也要查证收件人的ID，但不建议把号码给其他人。于是，我要求房东必须先通话，然后才可给出号码，如果他没有时间，我可以和他律师直接联系。眼看到手的鸭子要飞了，对方还真地又给我了个号码，只是仍旧无法打通。至此，大概清楚对方是个骗子了。这个时候，才想起来去咨询朋友，结果朋友说，这都不知道？电视天天讲，用西联骗人的多得很！55，原来这样，偶对英国骗子的警惕性太低了。我于是发邮件问他，做个骗子的感觉如何啊？对方从此不再答复。
想不到的是大概过了一个月，另外一个骗子又来了。同样手法，不过这次号称是位女士，没多久还把自己的英国护照发给我了以证实其真实性。陪她耍了两个回合，一要求点电话联系，对方就蒸发了。

教训：骗子得逞就是利用人们占小便宜的心理。我贪图低房价，好位置，差点以为馅饼真地掉下来了。希望租房的筒子们记住偶用汇款费买的这个教训，就让馅饼只砸在别人身上吧。

西联汇款在我眼里基本等同骗子专用银行。凡是用西联汇款的，无论什么交易，一概不做。

还有那种开口就要银行帐号的，用意太明显了。

在英国混也要多加小心啊

傻傻地问一句,如果把自己的bank statement给对方, 会有什么问题呢?

谢谢分享。2个月前打算租房子的时候遇到相似的事情，但是在他说自己花了很多冤枉的火车票钱，自己的律师提出要租户给证据的时候，我就觉得不太对，具体是什么我也不清楚，但是感觉是骗子。就回信他说信任是双方面的，太麻烦的事情我不想插手，就算了吧。这件事情就过去了。2天后收到另一个人的信，但是觉得时间太巧，而且内容不同但是风格很相似，就连理都懒得理了。

一直坚信他们是骗子，但是别人问起我又给不出真凭实据，就是一种感觉...谢谢lz，让我了解了具体的内幕

租房还是找正规中介吧，虽然贵点，也不完全保险，有时也闹心，但碰到这种完全是骗子的几率还是比较小的

bbc3 最近在放一个连续剧 "The Real Hustle" 专门讲怎么设陷阱骗人的, 看了很有启发呵呵.

除非他知道你银行的SECURITY问题，一般而言仅通过你的BANK STATEMENT 就FRAUD的可能性不大。

为防患于未然，你最好更改你银行的SECUIRTY问题，不要和你的地址生日什么的有任何联系。如果还担心，可以把和你BANK STATEMENT相关的DEBIT CARD什么的挂失换新的。

啊~我自己都不记得那问题了~~

我還以為這個已經是大家都知道的騙局呢，gumtree上面的租房論壇專門有開貼講呢。

還有一種不涉及金錢，但是也很糟糕。 聯絡發廣告的人以后，對方會立即回信說房子還在，請你趕緊把自己的姓名住址提供給他，方便他準備合同。 也許有人覺得這些不涉及金錢無所謂，但是稍微警覺一點就會疑問，房東不應該比租房的人還著急，另外對方的英文通常不怎么好。

一定不要把自己的姓名地址給任何所謂房東，騙子可以用這些做很多事情。

真长见识啊，楼主美眉好厉害啊。我很认真地看了一遍才清楚他们想怎么骗。可恶，可恨。我没有用过西联，但是以前看凤凰卫视，他们天天做广告，看得我比怀孕时候还想吐，就没有什么好印象了。

被骗了，怎么办

简直和我们遇到的情况一模一样，我们正在邮件初步联系中，好在提前看到了这个帖子，十分感谢楼主把这个帖子发出来，不然我们也很有可能被骗。联系我们的两个邮件是： Laura Hay<laurahay33@yahoo.co.uk> 和 Nick Stinson<nstins122@googlemail.com>。不知道他们是不是一伙人，可能他们有很多个id，每次用不同的骗人，不过手法都是如出一辙。天上真的没有掉馅饼的事情啊. 大家要多加小心，尤其是刚到伦敦没有经验的人，还是多交点钱找中介吧，我们就是从外面想搬到伦敦的，又像绕过中介自己找房子，结果在gumtree发了找房的帖子，却遇到了骗子。

遇到的情况简直一模一样。
唉，俺们来自于北欧，那里的信任度高一些，从未遇到被骗情况，对人就放松了警惕。现在想来真的很害怕，好在我们从她的邮件里发觉他们的英文有些问题，还是有些怀疑的，没有告诉他们我们的信息，不然不知道会发生怎样的事情。唉，来了大城市，要处处提防小心啦。

是我今天碰到的一个。　手法和以上各位说的一模一样。　妈的，　我还被他骗得回了两封邮件，幸好没有把地址告诉他。　最后被我老公一语中的，　我才恍然大悟。　最可恶的是我骂他是骗子后，　他还装做挺委屈的说我污辱他的人格。　还说要给我寄护照复印件，要我的电话号码。　去他的。不理了。

大家警惕啊。　

哎，　找房子真不容易。　要不我们这些被骗的一起合起来租一套好了。　　

我也从gumtree上找的房子，我的房东很好(不喜欢中介，他们总是推荐给你些很烂的房子要不就是远远超出你的预算的房子，想push你。 ) 但是gumtree这种谁都能发贴的地方肯定良莠不齐，什么人都有。很多是真实的，也有不少骗子。总的一点，不要贪便宜，凡事用常识判断下，没有看到房子和见到房东前不要把任何个人信息给他。有问题可以电话里先联系询问，真实的房主不会不回答你的合理问题。相信自己的直觉。

今天 我在gumtree上看房子，也碰到了类似的骗子。
后来， 他一谈用west union汇款，我就感觉不好，上网一搜，找到这个帖子，太赞这个帖子了。
因为对west union不了解流程，也没想出来他会咋骗，但是也听说好多ebay骗子用这个，就觉得感觉不好！

若是看过房子了，准备签合同了。大概没有这种担心吧？上面讲的是还没有见过人看见房子就让提供姓名住址之类。

最近老老实实找了个中介，希望别辜负我的信任。
谁记得2年前BBC的暗访FOXTON的节目，那些员工欺骗客户和伪造假文件可是毫不手软的！让俺从此对中介犯嘀咕。

找中介也要小心啊，我的朋友几年前再伦敦找房子的时候被一个所谓的中介骗了1000多镑，是个有门脸貌似正规的中介，也看了房子，签了合同，交了押金和第一个月的房租，约好了交钥匙的时间，等拿钥匙那一天发现“中介”已经人去楼空，门外好几个等着领钥匙的，才知道受骗了。报了警，备了案，也就没有下文了。

这种情况不知道交支票会不会保险一点呢？如果钱已经过账还能不能追回了？好多人都知道的那个用空头支票骗钱的骗局是不是就是支票clear了以后再取消的呢？

楼上的例子比较厉害，我被中介坑了点deposit

I am going to view a flat from gumtree.com tomorrow. The property is advertised by Foxton(They told me the agency is Foxton over phone, not stated in their advert). They said quite a few people are interested in this flat, so to secure this flat I have to pay 500 pounds as holding deposite. Is the amount reasonable?

Also, they will prepare paper work for the contract. What I should be careful about?

覺得樓上遇到這個有點懸。看個房子要什么押金啊，而且還是500鎊那么多，房子都沒看呢，合同著急啥？可別隨便給錢，也別把自己的姓名住址給他們。

仅仅是姓名地址和银行帐号应该是没有问题的, 我觉得

这些骗子（scammers）不是英国人，几乎都是尼日利亚人。因为在尼日利亚的西联，只要提供取款号码就能把钱取出来。

他们不止是在英国行骗，全世界哪里里都干。但是他们一般不骗当地人，只是在网上挑外国留学生来骗。当地人看电视、报纸，时间长了都知道这事。他们是根据你广告上留的看上去foreign的名字和大学的邮箱名挑中你的。

他们提供的房子，都在市中心之中心，如卡地夫的Queen Street, St Mary Street. 有点脑子的人都知道，那里没有什么住宅房子的。另外，他们会贴一些房子的照片，你细看就会发现，客厅、卧室、厨房的照片显然不象一个房子里的。他们一般不留电话号码，留了也是假的，因为他们人在尼日利亚，不方便接电话或跟本没有电话，呵呵。

如果你是打广告出租房，他们会说，对你的房间感兴趣，但人在外地出差，想让朋友帮忙往你帐上打一个月的房租作为押金。如果你有脑子，就会想，这人没看房就要给钱，不对吧？即使是决定要这房，也不至于这么急就给钱吧？

他们还有其他的骗人故事：“我是阿联酋某名流的女儿，我爸爸给人害死了，留下多少多少千万钱。这钱我需要秘密转出到英国，如果你能用你的银行帐户帮我，我可以给你百分之13 作为回报，也就是多少百万，另外，我是一个年轻漂亮的单身女孩，也许咱们可以发展。。。”

总之，只要对方向你要西联的底单，十有八九是骗子，你就不用跟他们耽误时间了。他们是任凭你怎么骂都不回应的，因为他们全世界到处骗，每天要处理成百上千的邮件，忙得很呢。

俺也在cardiff混了半年，真想不到会有那么多的骗子，谢谢大家指点，以后要小心了！

If u have a friend that u trust in the uk..Then u will have to make a transfer to your friend

And show me a proof that you made the transfer

You will have to make a transfer of the rent and deposit to your friend name and address in UK

And get back to me with the receipts

so that i can be sure that you made the transfer

后来他又来找我，说可不可以，还说了一大堆什么lawyer，

我突然想到这篇文章，就问west union?想探探他口风

他说how do you pay by west union？

我就和他bye bye

大家要当心啊

还好之前我看过这篇文章所以记下了，否则就被骗了

have seen people who told me that they will pay upon us seeing promising me that money is not the problem or that their company is paying or they are financially buoyant to pay the rent and then i took
permission from work, when we met and after seeing my apartment,they definitely fall in love with it but they don't have money to pay, i don't know how people are so unserious and take pleasure in wasting
other peoples time,they will start pleading with me and telling me all their problems as regards finances and how they cannot pay until a certain period of time which of course will make me compassionate, I hope you understand the way i feel about this issues, people have deceived me in the past imagine a girl ask me to come from Leeds to London that she want to rent the apartment i left to meet her on getting there she told me that she want to rent the apartment but i should allow her to stay till the end of the month before she can pay me and the other is on DSS ...can you see that ,i just need to see a sign that you are capable and you have the money before i can come for the viewing with my lawyer but am very sure that you will like the apartment.i cant be stressing myself when am not sure that you are capable.The apartment is available now and you can move in at anytime.

You can rent the apartment as am willing to rent it out but the only way for me to confirm that you are capable of paying the rent and taking care of my apartment during your stay there is for you to Send 1Month Rent and the Security Deposit to your wife name and address in the UK and get back to me with the Western Union Receipt to confirm from western union if the money was truly transfered
