在这里学习很久，看大家提到homebuyer report...是mortgage lender要求做的，我们从hsbc贷款，可是他们居然说我们不要做valuation了。。。
（1）我是不是该自己找个surveyor做啊？怎么找呢？
Normally every lender would ask for a survey to be done to protect themselves but sometimes although very rarely a lender may not need the valuation report because of various reasons, for example the previous owner had a mortgage with the same lender and it started only a short while ago so the condition of the property is known to the lender. Pls check with the lender again and most of all, no valuation is needed does not mean no valuation fee is needed so pls ask if you still have to pay the valuation fee. Moving on to your own survey, it is advisable to do a more thorough survey to protect your own investment and as most of the British properties are quite old, it is worth doing a structural survey or even a full survey depending on the condition of the property.
我们看那个房子是老式的boiler，带tank的，我们之前租的房子都没有带tank的，（2）不知道这种好用吗？另外，这个boiler据说有20年了，（3）我想知道一个正常的这种老式boiler的寿命大概是多久？
I gather that this is a house with gas supply so it is a gas boiler? If so then the boiler could be very old as most modern combi boiler shouldn't need water tank. You may be looking at replacing the boiler, as well as the heating system altoghther if you like, after moving in.
那个tank放在2层卫生间外面的airing cupboard里，那个cupboard里面没怎么处理过，可以看到裸露的地板，我lg说觉得是那种chipboard的，（4）那是不是说明整个2层的地板都是这种纸板的啊？那会不会不结实？一般的地板都应该是什么的呢？
No idea of the materials but should be ok. Again a good survey report will tell you more details.
agent说在roof space里放的是cold water tanks，说是给tank和房子的cold taps供水的。我很疑惑。（5）这个是必需的吗？（6）储存过的水直接喝不会有问题吗？为什么不直接从水管进水呢？（7）不带tank的boiler是不是就不要cold water tanks了？（8）如果是，没了cold water tank怎么给房子供凉水的？是不是要重走管道？那就是大工程了。。。。
It should be quite cheap to remove water tank after you get combi boiler in. Don't worry to much about it as British houses are all like that.
