I found this ‘unnoticed’ hair salon on a busy street. I say 'unnoticed' because for the earlier 20 years of my or so I never notice its existence. Only then 10 more years later, I visit hometown this time I ‘found’ it.

Solid 80 years history. From private ownership to state-ownership, went through the rough years of the Great Culture Revolution to the recent 30 years of economy reform.

And it is still there. Giving the pace of the change, it is a magic of being.

Like any other state-own business, it has a visible problem of redundant staff. People sited at back bench gossiping. Compares to manyof other private run hair salons here , two staff – a hairdresser and an assistant.

You are welcome to take photos here. There won’t be many like this around.’ said a member of the staff, wasn’t without a hint of worrying about the future of this salon and themselves.
