Research Assistant/Programmer (China Studies)
(Research Staff IB: Salary £18,265 枲£23,296 p.a.)


CTSU is a world renowned international research institute working on cancer and vascular disease.  We are looking for an enthusiastic person to provide research and programming support for a research team working on Chinese epidemiological studies.  The studies will mainly be the Qidong hepatitis B vaccine study and a study of mortality, biochemistry, diet and lifestyle in rural China.

Applicants should have a good degree or equivalent, competence in a numeric or scientific field, and a minimum of two years挔experience of data management using Access and Excel.  Experience of  SQL and VBA  is essential, together with experience of word processing using Chinese packages and Microsoft Office. Applicants should demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese, attention to detail and an aptitude to learn quickly. The appointee will work closely with epidemiologists, statisticians and other programmers in the unit, but must also be capable of working independently.
