英国的MBA应该怎马选呢，英国硕士好不好念呢

学费越贵的越好，当然也越不好学，前提是你得进的去。这帮家伙不却你那几万胖

basicly, if you got an offer from the university which charge over 16,000 pounds for MBA study one year, you will have tough life!!

I have got two offer. one is from leeds,and the other is Glasgow's.
Which is better? What do mean tough life, is it difficult to obtain a master degree especially MBA in UK?

by the way, why over 16000 pounds. is this a kind of standard?

some univeristies are very easy, some difficult, It depends,BTW, I do NOT suggest to go either one!

不要总相信ft,你也可以去参考economic entelligence unit的排名吗，glasgow排第37in global ranking ,5 out of 12 uk busness school in global ranking,and its teaching quality
ranks 2nd. 而且苏格兰费用比较便宜，而且工作机会多，听那里的首相说要吸引更多的海外学生到哪里工作

请问你在那个商学院呢？

其实最权威的排名是美国business week，在那里你可以了解到Glasgow=warwick=前200，但没有进前75名，by the way,进前75名的只有3所英国学校！

They wanna atract more high professional foreigners, not MBA. The chance to get a job here with MBA is very very low. Not to mention with some MBA from the schools u've applied.

Can't understand why u wanna do a MBA course and gagging for a job in UK already. The harsh reality is Your experience in china means nothing here if the company has no relative business with china.

Which university are u in? what's ur major? don't speak to me like this. I have got more 2million yuan here.

maybe back to China for me is a better choice. Virtually u konw china lack of people who understand both technology and internatinal management and I have erer learnt international business as my second major. My knowledge is so wide. And, u must know that MBA programme can integrate them together. I think that is a wise chose for me. Many chinese Engineers are learn MBA in China. that is a very popular trend.

I am just wondering what is ur university and ur major now. Don't forget u r still a chinese,except you have got green card here.

I suppose that person would b me then. Neither my course nor my university is your business, at least I am not desperate to flash some so called 2 million RMB.

My suggestions are:

You had better select a subject which is related to your current job, say engineering for your first year. With your experiences, you can do it well. And because it is something you know well, you will not find it too difficult to understand it.

Then, if you still enjoy the life in the UK after your first Master, you can have two choices. First is to apply for a job. It will be easier to get a job in engineering than MBA because it is not very possible for a MBA graduate to occupy a work permit. And if you can successfully get in any international companies, you will have a chance to do on-job training sponsored by your employer. Most local students in the MBA courses have their employers to pay the tuition fee. That is the reason why it is so expensive. Some international companies here even send their employees to American top business schools.
Or, if you still want to learn MBA after one year, you can apply after you finish your first Master. It could help you to get in the top ones. For example LSE, LBS, Cambridge, providing you did well in the first one. It could make your money spent more valuable. And as you know, MBA is something once in a life, you will want yourself to go to the top ones. If you can finish a Master degree here and then apply for MBA, I am sure it will give you a great chance to enter the top ones. I get in the Computing Science course in Imperial College after I finished a Master degree in Publishing in Stirling.

But you know I don't wanna spend too much time in courses any more. I have got an master in china, and I am 26. My age don't allow me to just study. I must think about my future family, coz I am the only one son of my parents. If u feel that MBA of University of Glasgow is cost a lot and worth nothing, then I will possibly give it up and do my job in china.

why did u speak just like my uncle. are you old enough.
Maybe ur university is among the tops. But, you should know that every person just have their own destiny. and cambridge degree is also worth nothing if u have no experience at all. I have work in beijing as a project director and international representative for 4 years.I accumulated many experiences and I have got a degree in International business and many certificates, including, microsoft and UK ISO9000,etc. I think my hard work will be paid off eventually.

glasgow ranks 37 in uk economist intelligence unit and its teaching quality ranks 2 , so I chose it. But some people
just trust FT which is just a 20$ cocker, US business week is more authority.

(1) You are totally obsessed by UK MBA things.
(2) The high tuition fee doesn't mean much to u.
(3) You don't care whether u can find a job in UK, and whether u can earn as much as u can currently if back to china.

Frankly speaking, most of the MBA courses in UK don't worth the money The entry requirement is unbelievely low As long as u hv enough money, u can get offer, never say background, english level.....I can see from ur experience that u r quite a outstanding person in China. Only some top MBA schools, such as LBS, MBS....can match u

I know how u feel. Most of the people here may hv felt what u r feeling before we came here. But reality is another thing

首先到英国学习要有明确的心态，为什么要学，学什么最适合自己。由於每个人都有自己的局限性，所以多多听取别人的经验是对自己有帮助的。

从你的留言当中可以明显看到心态很浮躁，而且攻击性很强，其实很多人都非常善意的提出了自己对学MBA 的看法，尤其是sunhenan，非常中肯。

不知你为什么总是关心别人的专业，学校，甚至年龄，从你其他的帖子里总是有相似的问题。我不是来自什么名校，但是我认为我到英国来学到了很多东西，不仅是学业上的而且是思想上的。每个人都有自己的生活方式，英国有很多在国内很厉害的人都在这里享受平静的生活，没有任何人在这里炫耀自己国内的经历。

最后，一点建议，如果可以，最好读 LSE, LBS, Cambridge, Oxford的MBA。Glasgow也不错了。

gla, if your experience is as what you told in the posts, you can come to the UK by HSM scheme which can allow you to work in the UK providing you can find a job within one year here. It is a migration scheme based on points system similar to Canadian and Australian migration. It is specially for high flyers in other countries who want to move to the UK. Once you have been working here for some time, you will be in very much advantage when applying for a course, especially MBA course.

The pointing system is based on your experiences, your degree, your current salary and other related profiles. Of course, the standard is really high, but if you are really like what you told, you should get through no problem.

gla, if you are telling the truth in your posts, you certainly could think about HSM.

A Master degree can give you 25 points,

Five year work experiences will give you 25 points (35 points if you were in senior position for more than 2 years)

If you annual income is more than 12500 pounds, you can get 25 points, and 31250 pounds will get you 35 points.

If you can prove you have significant achievement in your area, you will get 15 points and exceptional significant can get you 25 points.

You will only need 75 points to be considered for HSM. So if your situation could meet three of the above, you can get there.
