sure, she said it could be published after reading my draft, but I was not so enthusiasitc at that time. I want to publish it on some journals.

that is why I am not so enthusiastic at that time. but they did gave me an A and part of a prize which is supposed to be awarded to the No 1 in our class ( I didn't perform very well in examinations, and always got an . I believe I am capable of something, but I have nothing to prove it ( not first degree, thrd class university in the UK),even if the possibilities are very slim, I still want to put some effort into. at least I believe it is better than many rubbish papers I read in some journals. .

Basically it is quite impossible to publish an entire dissertation, but you can abstarct it first and look for information of CALL PAPER on conference, the information could be got from email, journal etc. Some conferences are held every year, try to track down if they are related with your area. You can send your abstract (100 -300 words) to the call paper committee first (you might need your supervisor's opinions at this stage). If the committee accepts your abstarct, further instruction of how many words etc for the paper they want will be sent to you. Based on the instruction, you can reconstruct your dissertation and rewrite a paper (you need your supervisor's suggestion again). Send your paper finished to the committee, wait for their acceptance. If your paper is accepted, your paper will be published on the conference proceeding. Otherwise you have to try other opportunities.

How about journal paper publication? It will be easier if your paper has been published on conference paper alreday. A journal paper is required more words and contribution and also taken a long long time, half or a year to wait for publish, you are always required to rewrite again and again, pay some money before publish.

If you have never got experience on publish, I suggest you take a conference paper first and cooperate with your supervisor together. You have to understand it is not the same thing of doing project, writing dissertation and publishing a paper.

If you finish your master project, you can write down what you have done and results. But a paper is required to have some contribution, especially a journal paper, much more than what your have done. If you do think you have contribution which are quite excellent in your dissertation, please do try to start your conference paper as soon as possible, make your conference paper being published soon and defend your contribution in this world!
