电大一类的教学方式在这边几乎每个大学都有， 方式有很多种, 还有e-learning或者distance learning. 但是每个学校开设这类教学方式的科目不是很多，你可以针对你要去的地点在周边寻找大学. 至于求职时的文凭效力，在英国至少是一样的.

if there is a difference between Ou and many traditional unis, then i think the difference is about educational tech. The fact is that OU outperforms many traditional universities both in teaching and research. it will be quite wrong to think that OU is the equivalent of a China's TV university.there is obviously no comparabilities between them. I am not saying OU is Oxbridge, but Ou is surely better than many traditional UK unis.

I don't think the Prof in Nottigham just 'Randomly' selected OU for his PhD study.If that's a 'random event' , then why not just randomly select from the 107 traditional universities? Could you give me a valid explanation ?

Anyway, I know it is hard for anyone to get rid of a deeply-seated misconception .
So I can understand how you feel. I used to be on the same boat as you.but now I have a better understanding about OU. Cheers .

The Sunday Times University Guide ranks the OU fifth out of all UK universities for teaching quality.

The results, based on QAA assessments since 1995, place the OU behind Cambridge, Loughborough, LSE and York and ahead of Oxford, Imperial and UCL.

the OU is excluded from the main Sunday Times University Guide league table because the criteria are geared to conventional universities and irrelevant to us.
