Does anyone know UMIST?
I want to apply for its Chemical Engineering Department. Does someone know how much it would cost per month, including housing fee, energy, and food?
Machester is not a safe city, is it? Any advices for safety?
UMIST will only exist untill this October, and then it will join The University of Manchester. Because the two current universities are both well known ones, the new one is hoped to be better. I heard that UMIST has been one of the best institutes of science and technology in the UK. It can be suitable for you.
Apart from tuition fees, all the expense including the rent is between £300-400 in a month.
Good luck!

I am applying for a PhD position there. I wonder whether university would provide salary or scholarship for PhD students? If so, how much I could get very month, approximately?
Thank you in advance!

depends on ur major and whether u r lucky enough

if u r applying for science, it might be easier to get sponsor~ good luck
what academic year are you going to attend? if september, i do not think u can get ORS this year coz it has already been finished. u can apply for next academic year. or try some departemental or school bursury, or contact lecturer and professor who have got the money for research project.

Thank you Conetto!
I am applyying for a "Marie Curie Host Felloship" program. It is said to be "fully founded". But I do not know what does "fully founded" mean.

问导师, 导师手里都有几个project, 特别是曼大的, 有的是银子, 一年给你免个学费再给个7,8千花花不成问题。

i know that scholarship. but i am not sure whether all overseas students can apply for that. coz most of the scholarship only opens to home/eu students or commonwealth country. confirm with the information u have got.
