i wish to install broadband with two other roommates at home.

got some questions now:

1 if we share it, do we need a router or a hub?
i have a hub now, but it seems i need a router rather than a hub

if hub is ok, can we use the internet at the same time?
do i need to settle the IP address before we use? (how)

2any one use wanadoo, or AOL or BT at this moment? give me some advice if you know these server's performance.

Don't apply AOL, you can't share internet.

i thought NTL is allright.

you will get free modem, free installation, and 60 days free charge of using.

300k, 750kand 1.5mb. the 1.5mb is quite xpensive tho.

I'm using BT broadband at the moment. Stable and fast. Not bad.

Mexx: You need a router. The router for BT broadband is differnt from the router for NTL broadband. Make sure you buy the right one.

i asked the AOL customer service agent, the answer is i can share internet broadband with others if i use gold service 24.99 with Pounds monthly fee.

so do you mean this service or the one with 19.99 pounds monthly fee?

19.99镑的没有试过。我用的是29.99镑的1兆网。

不要用AOL9，而是在网上找到你modem的驱动，然后安装，然后用XP建立一个拨号程序，然后直接拨号就可以了

用户名：********@AOL.COM
密码不变。

网络共享的话就是正常的服务器客户机共享（需要一台电脑做服务器），理论上无论是19.99镑的还是29.99镑的都可以用这种方法共享，因为只要一台机器能够上网（无论是用何种方法上网）都能够共享。

用ROUTER共享还没有搞过，应该也不难。19.99镑行不行就不知道了。

wanadoo 不错，稳定。 17。99 512kb 只是有2Gb月使用量限制

ntl cable doesn't cover my area, but they provide alternative freedom service, which require a BT line.
I have read the information in their website.
for the classic service £15 per month, i have to continue pay line rental to BT, this service gives £15 calling credit.
The only thing I don't know is how this £15 credit works. My BT line is BTtogether option 1, If i use this service, will my phon still BT phone or a ntl phone.
if i call with this phone, will i be charged 5.5p an hour+2p per minutes.
