【Young man:】What’s the matter that, you said, Brownian machine is an amphibious perpetual motion machine in fact which absorbs energy but doesn’t consume energy.
【Tiny particle:】In another word, this machine is the perpetual motion machine according with the definitions of the two categories.
【Young man:】The definition of the first category requires no consumption of energy while that of the second category requires absorbing energy. These two requisitions conflict with each other and can’t exist at the same time. But…
【Tiny particle:】You can find a harmony coexistence of the two conflicts from the actual working procedure of Brownian perpetual motion machine. The water absorbs the energy back after it does work to particles. Because of a thermo-balance between pure water system and particle system, pure water system can do works to particles without absorbing external system’s energy or reducing its inner energy, Viz. no consumption of energy. But water really can continue doing work by absorbing energy from particles. This peculiar procedure makes it satisfy two definitions at the same time.
【Young man:】Where does the key point lie in this profound procedure?
【Tiny particle:】It solves the problems that general engines can’t take back its consumed energy after doing work. But you see, Brownian perpetual motion machine can take back all the energy it has consumed.
【Young man:】Then, compared with general engine, what particular advantages does it have?
【Tiny particle:】It doesn’t need an energy system to change its state to input energy to it. 【Tiny particle:】You really have a good perception! So the idea people hold that there is a necessary relation between consuming energy and doing work is wrong. Energy is playing a hide-and-seek game with man like a smart child and can hide into thin air. But it can’t hide in the Brownian perpetual motion machine, which helps us understand the theory that doing work is not the result of energy consumption.
