CHELSEA CLNTON, the daughter of the former American president may follow in her father's footsteps and take a postgraduate course at Oxford University.

Chelsea, 21, has not made a formal application but the university confirmed yesterday it knew that Oxford was one of the options being considered by Bill Clinton's daughter. She may study for a degree in history or international relations, starting in October.

Chelsea, who will graduate from Stanford University in California next month with medical degree, is unlikely to attend Oxford as a Rhodes scholar, like her father, as next year's places have already been filled.

Clinton was a Rhodes scholar at University Colleage, Oxford, from October 1968 to June 1970. He studied politics and tried marijuana, as he admitted, although he did no inhale.
