好像这里学EE的不多哦，开一个贴供大家讨论。先介绍一下自己，MSc in Communications & Signal Processing, Imperial College London。

I am working in EE too, could you tell a bit more about your work, e.g what would you like to do for your Msc project?

Actually I am doing some coding things over erasure channel. One of my supervisor's PhD students has just proposed a new such erasure protection codes based on Fountain codes and Turbo codes. My job is to extend their performance. What about you? Where are you studying?

hehe, it seems that what I am doing is far away from yours. I am from U of Plymouth. My work is mainly about mobile networking, e.g. ad-hoc networking.
Have you heard about Network Coding? and are you wokring for your Msc or PhD?

Sure. A few days ago, a professor or a doctor was invited by one of our tutors to give a one-day course about network coding. That tutor has just come to our college for a year, he has been with Bell labs with 20 years and he is from HK. Three of my friends are doing MSc project under his supervision now. It seems you are a PhD, aren't you?

Yes, I am, but a junior one . My knowledge is not broad enough to talk about Coding, except Network coding, which is more relavent to my work. Maybe we can share some experience on research.

wouldn't it be easier if we talk about these on msn?

对不起打断一下，通信方面的专业应该是属于electronic engineering 还是 electrical engineering?

Not very sure, maybe it's electronic engineering, e.g. RF Circuit, it can also belong to Computing, e.g pervasive computing.

Under our department, the department of electrical & electronic engineering, there are 3 different MSc course, Comms & Signal Processing, Analog & digital circuit design and Control.
