If you would be using a reliable connection to be online, i.e. ISDN or Ethernet then talking to China from UK would be easy and with no additional charges. All you need is your laptop, webcam and a microphone.  There are various ways to call using the internet, e.g. Netmeeting.

因为本人对电脑问题是门外汉，而家人有要我带着LAPTOP和摄像头过去，请教各位摄像头是否用得上，是不是上网了就可以跟家人面对面？可是上网了又怎样跟家人通电话呢？

带上你的笔记本和摄相头，然后连上网用MSN MESSENGER就可以解决一切问题（图象和声音），但如果你的网速过慢图象还是别传输的好 :p
